TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF.

My wife and I are both business owners and Lakeland enthusiasts. But before all of that, I was one of those people who wanted to grow up and leave Lakeland cause I felt there wasn’t much going on. I lived in D.C for a couple of years and ended up moving back to Lakeland. This city has a lot going on now!

WHAT’S YOUR ELEVATOR PITCH?

The Collection Media is a video advertising agency that specializes in creating story-driven, super bowl level quality ads for eager businesses.

WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ARE LEARNING RIGHT NOW?

I’m learning to trust in long processes.

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS THAT YOU CONTINUE TO INNOVATE AND THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX?

I have become a much better story-teller because of the lack of resources I had to tell stories. To this day, I still would rather have boundaries in order to keep the creative flow and innovation exciting.

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF ADVICE YOU HAVE RECEIVED ABOUT ENTREPRENEURSHIP?

Imperfect action. These words were said many times to encourage people throughout a business growth group I was in. It continues to motivate me to get up and try things, to not think so much. It’s not always, nearly never, going to be perfect, so go ahead and try. Take imperfect action.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP CAN BE A TOUGH AND LONELY ROAD. IN THE DIFFICULT MOMENTS HOW DO YOU STAY FOCUSED AND MOVE YOUR BUSINESS FORWARD?

Take part in a community of other entrepreneurs. Making social connections will lead to many work opportunities, as well as great friendships. And again, take imperfect action. Give yourself grace.

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS THAT YOU HAVE INTENTIONALLY COLLABORATED WITH OTHERS TO MOVE YOUR BUSINESS FORWARD?

I have a very collaborative mind. I’m always thinking of how to include other talented people into our work. With video work, and especially larger campaigns, we are able to bring on talented stylists, musicians, writers, and other artists.

WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS IN LAKELAND?

The city of Lakeland has made it easy to start and grow a business through many aspects; one of these aspects is Catapult! The continued support from the community and consistent growth opportunities create a great environment for a small, medium, and large business.
