TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF.

My name is Campbell Rice and I was born and raised in Lakeland, the greatest city of all time! My parents and I still live here, while my siblings are all spread out across the country. My dad is Tim Rice, a pastor here in Lakeland, and I definitely share his passion of investing in this wonderful city and all the people that live here. I spend the majority of my day on creative projects with my business, The Collection Media, and the rest of my day eating chipotle, making music, or eating ice cream with my incredible fiancé.

WHAT’S YOUR ELEVATOR PITCH?

The Collection Media is a video advertising agency that specializes in creating story-driven, super bowl level quality ads for eager businesses.

WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ARE LEARNING RIGHT NOW?
Currently, I am learning the importance of balance. I am very quick to say “Yes” to everything because I just love doing a lot of things, but I know that maintaining a balance of hard work and rest is crucial for longevity!
WHAT ARE SOME WAYS THAT YOU CONTINUE TO INNOVATE AND THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX?
Whenever it comes to a big video project, making a song, or even folding laundry, I always try to remind myself, “How can I accomplish this task in a way I have never done before?” This really spices things up a notch and makes the process so much more exciting!
WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF ADVICE YOU HAVE RECEIVED ABOUT ENTREPRENEURSHIP?
The best advice I have ever been given for entrepreneurship is to have a consistent morning formula. Every morning I wake up, drink water, read my bible, and spend time thinking about the amazing blessings in life. Every morning is a new opportunity to pursue your passion and love the people around you.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP CAN BE A TOUGH AND LONELY ROAD. IN THE DIFFICULT MOMENTS HOW DO YOU STAY FOCUSED AND MOVE YOUR BUSINESS FORWARD?
PRAYER. It’s in the hardest moments of life when I fully realize how little control I have, and that I need help from a God who is always with me! He is the only reason why I make any progress at all.
WHAT ARE SOME WAYS THAT YOU HAVE INTENTIONALLY COLLABORATED WITH OTHERS TO MOVE YOUR BUSINESS FORWARD?
One of the ways that we have collaborated with other innovators and creators in Lakeland is through a YouTube channel we started called, The Local Tapes. This channel features local musicians performing their original music in a stripped down and intimate setting. We also have a podcast called, “It’s Time To Make A Scene,” where we highlight people who have inspired us and who are making a scene in Lakeland and the world. There are so many talented people in this city and we want to be a business that is always collaborating with people who have different perspectives and ideas!
WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS IN LAKELAND?
Lakeland is a place where new ideas and growth are welcomed. When Connor O’Brien and I started our business here, we were greeted with so many encouraging messages and opportunities! We also love how many people are chasing their dreams here in this city and we want to be a part of that. We believe that the environment we put ourselves in is one the most important aspects of a healthy business. Catapult is one of these amazing environments where people can network, encourage each other and collaborate to create some amazing things.
WHERE CAN WE GET YOUR PRODUCT OR SERVICE?

FAVORITE DESSERT?
My favorite dessert is a chocolate milkshake. Yes, just a classic, creamy, consistently mixed, very cold, chocolatey, LARGE milkshake..

FAVORITE WAY TO SPEND A SATURDAY?

Saturday’s are GREAT. I love making a huge breakfast with eggs and a peanut butter bagel. In the Morning, I’ll either spend a few hours working on some music, doing some video work, or sleeping in. Lunch is very consistently a big meal at chipotle. The afternoons are full of activity – disc golf, spikeball, working out, walking the lake, more disc golf… and then in the evenings, there is nothing better than a date night at the movie theatre, and getting ice cream at Mayday Ice Cream!
