The Academy of Branding

Amanda grew up fully immersed in artistic culture. As a painter and sculptor, she has always had an eye for the visually appealing. While living in Puerto Rico, she established herself as a graphic designer, professor, and brand coach. When Hurricane Maria swept through the island, it forced Amanda and her family to relocate to the Central Florida area. Equipped with over a decade of experience in the design and marketing industry, a Master’s degree in Digital Graphic Design, and a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations, she began the Academy of Branding in February of 2017. Her focus is to offer workshops both in-person and online to educate business owners on branding and the integration of digital systems for their companies.

What is your business? I offer graphic design and brand coaching services for entrepreneurs looking to grow their business. I also host workshops online and in-person to teach how to design logos, websites, banners, business cards, and more!

Who are your clients? My clients are entrepreneurs who want to improve their brand and business image.

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to work on what they are passionate about. At the start of 2017, I decided to quit my full-time job as a graphic design professor to pursue working on my own terms.

What are your short-term goals? I would like to develop my audience in Central Florida by hosting workshops in both Spanish and English in Lakeland and surrounding cities. I’m also working on making my online courses available in both Spanish and English as well as finishing my book, which I hope to complete and publish by the end of this year.

What are some business wins? The Academy of Branding has provided me with the opportunity to help dozens of entrepreneurs develop and maintain their brands. I am proud knowing that I have been able to accomplish this with few resources, abundant faith, the desire to succeed, and through following my passion to teach.

How has Catapult helped you? Catapult has inspired my creativity and productivity. I decided to join Catapult to operate out of my comfort zone and break down language barriers, and it has already paid off. The community is welcoming and a great way to expand my network as a new Lakelander. Catapult feels like family to me.

Why Lakeland? When I first arrived in Lakeland, I immediately fell in love with it. It has always made me feel at home.

What is your Secret Sauce? My passion. I am able to communicate simply and effectively in my teaching because of how passionate I am.
