What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? I wanted to work towards something other than just retirement. I actually never thought of myself as an entrepreneur, I’ve just been fortunate enough to have good examples of hard work ethic in my life.
Three wishes: Time, time, and time! There is more that goes on behind the scenes than people realize. I enjoy shooting and creating, but there is a good bit of work both leading up to an image capture and after.
Hardest thing about starting your business? Running on little sleep! Having a full time job as I built the business meant a lot of late nights and long weekends. I’m thankful that it’s not the case now and that I can maintain a flexible schedule with my family and friends.
Something interesting? At one point I was using a lens that was 4 times more expensive than the camera body it was on! The quality of the lens glass is something no camera body or computer software can emulate.
Why Lakeland? Being close to family. And it’s proximity to everything has been very helpful in growing my business.
What you’re looking forward to? Learning underwater photography
Favorite things to do in Lakeland? I regularly enjoy the park system, whether that be at the playground with my family, running through the woods, or kayaking on a lake. Being outside restores my soul!
How has Catapult helped you? TONS! Everything from new clients, friends, education, a place to collaborate, meeting place for clients, and lots and lots of coffee. I have so much to be thankful for.
Secret Sauce? Valuing clients is huge for me. Being personable and building a relationship that allows for people to be comfortable in front of my camera is essential.
