The Brilloco Institute

Denzel has lived all over the state of Florida, from Plant City to Tallahassee, but has found a home pursuing business ventures in Lakeland. During his sophomore year in college, Denzel learned the basics of economics and was fascinated with its effect on communities. From then on, he learned all he possibly could about global and domestic economics and how he could apply his knowledge to help businesses. He spent some time conducting economic research on both small and large scales and has since started three different companies. Each business venture has come with its own struggles and shortcomings, but have all left an important impact on his journey.

What is your business? The Brilloco Institute is a research consulting firm that conducts research on local and domestic economies. We then break down the data and transfer our findings to local businesses so they can maximize revenues and profits.

Who are your clients? We work with small and medium-sized businesses within the transportation, hospitality, and finance industries, among many others.

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? I was inspired by urban culture growing up, but 50 Cent’s deal with Vitamin Water specifically sparked my passion for business. I was raised without much, which has constantly motivated me to succeed.

What are some business wins? Our biggest business win to date has been the consistency we’ve been able to provide since we’ve been in business. The capability to submit invoices abroad to work with companies outside of the United States has also been a huge win because it is the right step to becoming a multi-national organization.

What are your favorite things to do in Lakeland? I love running around the many lakes in town, going to downtown Lakeland during lunch hour, and spending time with my family. Lakeland has always been my home away from home.

How has Catapult helped you? Catapult has given us a foundation, stability, and a professional appearance for when we meet with our clients. The 24-hour access has also given us a work space where we can get work done at all times.

Secret Sauce? Work harder than you think you can. I try to work 18 hour days and rarely take days off.
