Robert is originally from West Central Oregon and was raised in a logging community near the foot of the Cascade Mountains. He was captivated from an early age by the idea of how computers were going to impact the future. After joining the Air Force and spending the majority of his tour in Europe, Robert entered corporate America and spent the next twenty- ve years using his passion for technical solutions to drive his career. He realized that he longed for more collaboration over competition and decided to use his skills to launch Trimit Consulting.
What is your business? Business process improvement driven by a focus on quality + consistency of product and service delivery.
Who are your clients? Small to medium-sized businesses that cannot hire their own process improvement professionals.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? It gives me the freedom to passionately engage in processes that I had always enjoyed in previous corporate jobs but was not something I was a ordered the opportunity to enjoy because of other responsibilities.
Something interesting? I get to work with a diverse set of leaders in the community, so I never get bored.
Hardest thing about starting your business? I have been historically connected to companies that have vast resources in terms of people and money, so I’ve had to reconcile that this is not typically the case as a small business owner.
Business win? I was a part of a team that replaced an entire phone system in Orlando with less than 2 hours of downtime.
What would you like to see in Lakeland? A mutually beneficial, quality- focused culture led by local businesses.
Favorite things to do in Lakeland? Walk through Munn Park in December, watch as many movies as I can, and eat with friends at local restaurants with outdoor seating.
How has Catapult helped you? I am surrounded by others that are driven to overcome obstacles, which gives me hope on days where it feels too hard.
Secret Sauce? Jesus.
