Originally a native of New York City, Jon is an independent art director and graphic designer with over 10 years of experience who lives in Lakeland with his wife Lindsey and three young daughters. He’s a lover of all mediums of art, but also enjoys the occasional opportunity to be a private chef. He loves the modern street art movement and wants to live in a world where unicorns thrive and Jesus is wearing angel wings, sitting front row at a Journey concert holding a $20 artisan bagel.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? I realized that I had value–that I could use my creativity to affect change and connect my community to the world of art and design.
Goals: I would love to start an art mural project, to create a buzz worthy fine arts collection, and to continue to grow by taking on more challenging art projects.
Three wishes: 1) To create successful and persuasive art for everyone I partner with. 2) To share my experiences on a large scale. 3) To lead the next generation of creatives into a brighter future.
Something interesting? I’ve had the weird opportunity to work with Stone Cold Steve Austin (professional WWE wrestler) on a product design project and I was a top 100 finalist on Season 5 of Master Chef!
Why Lakeland? Lakeland has great family values that we want to raise our girls in–it feels like home. There is also a generation of art, innovation, invention, and community that is on the rise. I want to be a part of that.
Favorite things to do in Lakeland? Enjoying a cruffin from Born & Bread Bakehouse, spending time at Common Ground Park with my family, and sharing ideas with other entrepreneurs at Catapult.
How has Catapult helped you? It’s opened my eyes to the possibility of self-employment! I graduated from the CO.STARTERS program and learned the strategies and best practices for an aspiring business owner.
Secret Sauce? Treat your client like gold, allow them to join you on the creative journey, and remember that sometimes your creative perspective isn’t as important as the client’s message.
