Lakeland natives Joel (Full Sail University) and Stephanie Harrison (Southeastern University) married in 2007, moved to Franklin, TN, then returned to Lakeland to raise their beautiful daughter Arabella in 2010. Harrison Design naturally emerged as the primary vehicle to tie together their passions for people, creative thinking, music, freedom to travel, non-profit work, business, and health & wellness.
What is your business? We love creating new and unique ways to tell clients’ stories using emerging social media tools. Internet-based thinking is fascinating due to its scalability; we teach business how to reach a worldwide market, overcome language barriers, and transcend borders.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? Coming from generations of entrepreneurs, we never considered a 9-5 job. Our inspiration stems from wanting to have an adventurous life doing what God has created us to do.
Three wishes: For the Great Commission to reach the world, for healthy and nutrient-rich foods to cost less than their counterparts, and to expand our network to reach more people.
Hardest thing about starting your business? Not focusing on building a business model around a per-project basis, but learning to create recurring income through retainers and focus on lifelong relationships with our clients.
Something interesting? Our best-fit clients are within the health and wellness industry. Partnering with companies whose products bring hope, healing, and increased quality of life is deeply rewarding for us.
Why Lakeland? We’re both natives and have deep roots here. It’s a unique community that has fast-paced growth and continual opportunity for creatives. We’re honored to reinvest in it.
Favorite things to do in Lakeland? Enjoying nature walks with our daughter, eating at Cafe Roti and New Moon Sushi, and serving on the worship team at our church.
How has Catapult helped you? Networking–lots of great people are in the space. It’s always a good time!
Secret Sauce? Always put people first.
