At a young age, Caleb started watching documentaries, surf movies, and music videos which sparked his curiosity for cinematography and filmmaking. Not only does Randall Productions have the skills and equipment to create high quality films, but Caleb also has the incredible passion to create an experience with his films and videos while telling stories that make an impact.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? I didn’t necessarily expect to start my own company, but when I lost my full-time job, I decided to take the leap. Now I have the opportunity to spend my days doing what I love.
Goals: I would love to start booking higher-end weddings and break into the documentary and cinematography industries.
Hardest thing about starting your business? The fear of the unknown. I spent my first few weeks wondering if I could even pay the bills.
Three wishes: It’s always the first wish of a cinematographer to have better equipment, so definitely that! I would also love a team of people to work with and the ability to travel the world to film.
Why Lakeland? Why not, right? I honestly wasn’t looking to move here, but now that I’m here, I’ve learned to love the small town feel, the historic neighborhoods and the community.
What is Lakeland missing? A beach–I love to surf and miss the waves.
Favorite things to do in Lakeland? 1) Eating at The Red Door—definitely order the Bacon Jam Burger! 2) Going to the SPCA—my wife and I just adopted our first dog from there! 3) Attending Covenant Presbyterian every week—I have a very supportive community.
How has Catapult helped you? Catapult motivates me to have fresh and new ideas. I have the opportunity to talk through projects and
receive creative insight. From people, to spaces and supplies, there are endless resources that don’t exist when working alone from home.
Secret Sauce? Be passionate about what you do, be positive in how you do it, and be present with the relationships you make along the way.
