Adrian was born and raised in England, but came to the US to attend Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL where he played on the golf team. Four years ago, he moved to Lakeland with his wife and two young daughters. He worked in a Fortune 500 corporation for over 17 years managing multiple training and development programs. In early 2016, Adrian decided to leave the corporate world behind and start his own business.
What is your business? Mindfuel is a consulting and coaching business that works with people and organizations to solve their greatest challenges such as stress, productivity, communication and also assists businesses with process improvement.
Who are your clients? Companies that believe that employee well- being is good for business.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? My first few jobs were with technology startups during the “dot-com” era of the late 90s and I loved the creative energy and enthusiasm of it all. I always thought it was inevitable that I’d be doing something entrepreneurial on my own when the time was right.
Short term goals? To integrate my approach into a large-scale corporate wellness initiative.
Hardest thing about starting your business? I thought that quitting a well-paying corporate job would be the hardest thing, but that turned out to be quite simple once my vision for the business was clear. I’d love to inspire others to do the same.
Why Lakeland? Originally it was to be close to my wife’s family, but we decided that this city was a great place to raise our two daughters.
Favorite things to do in Lakeland? Swimming laps at Gandy Pool, working out at Anytime Fitness, and eating dinner at Nineteen61.
How has Catapult helped you? I’ve been able to indulge my entrepreneurial spirit by experimenting with some other business ideas. It’s great to be able to try things out in a low-risk setting to see if it is something you want to do more of.
Secret Sauce? Keep it simple. People already have more than enough going on, so adding more to do is rarely useful. I’m here to help people get done all that they need to with ease.
